MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Feb. 9, 2022) - The North Central College men's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 5-0 Wednesday night after cruising to a 3-0 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).

The Cardinals made swift work defensively in the first set against MSOE as they never allowed more than two consecutive points to be scored by their opponent. Jared Moser tallied five kills in set one while Ben Williams and Jake Miller each had four. North Central took set one, 25-19.

Set two brought a bit more of a challenge for the Cardinals as the Raiders took a 3-0 lead from the start. A kill by Nathan Jones got the squad rolling to take the lead 5-4. The score stayed tight until the MSOE rallied with six consecutive points to regain the lead at 16-14. The teams traded kills to tie at the 25-point-threshold until Cardenas put down a kill that razzled the Raiders into an attack error bringing the Cardinals to a 28-26 win to take set two.

Baring three separate four-point rallies, the Cardinals took set three with ease, 25-17.

Moser and Miller led the team with nine kills each, while Cardenas had eight. Matt Nealon led the team with 27 assists in addition to four service aces. Moser and Michael Szews each had an ace as well. Defensively, Williams led with 11 digs while Parker Nelson had 10, and Nealon had eight.

For the Raiders, Josh Kleinschmidt led the team with 10 kills while Kalvin Fellows had all 30 of the team's assists. Daniel Drag led the Raiders defensively with 13 digs.

The Cardinals host the University of Mount Union on Feb. 12 with match time set for 1:30 p.m. inside Gregory Arena.
