ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 13, 2022) - Facing Bethel University for the first time in program history, the North Central College men's tennis team downed the Royals 7-2 to kick off their spring break trip.

The Cardinals swept doubles action as Ramon Vilarroig Martinez/Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez won 8-3 at No. 1 singles. The tandem of Colten Way and Andy Hinch secured an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles while Javier Suarez Balsera and Morgan Red completed the sweep with an 8-3 win in the No. 3 doubles spot.

Vilarroig Martinez jumped out to a 6-0, 6-0 win in singles play before Suarez Balaera used a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles to lock up with win for North Central. Red earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 6 position while Matthew Sengphommachanh fought to a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles.

North Central takes on Roger Williams tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM (ET). The match will be played at Sanlando Park in Orlando.
