ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 13, 2022) - Opening their spring break trip by taking on Bethel University, the North Central College women's tennis team earned their 15th win of the season by defeating the Royals, 7-2.
Kaeli Smashey and
Natalie Bassett put the Cardinals on the board at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 win while the duo of
Mikayla Edquiban and
Sydney Sawyer cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Kayla McSweeney earned the Cardinals first singles win at No. 6, winning 6-3, 6-0. Bassett used a 6-0, 6-0 win before Edquiban clinched the win for North Central with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5.
Hannah Hougland and
Alaina Kanthaphixay each secured wins in singles action to push North Central to a 7-2 win.
The Cardinals face No. 20 Denison University tomorrow at 9 AM (ET) and Roger Williams University at 3 PM (ET) at Lake Cane in Orlando.
