CCIW Release

Mar. 14, 2022 - For the second time this season, North Central College men's volleyball outside hitter, Jared Moser was selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week. The CCIW announced this week's selections on Monday.

The fifth-ranked Cardinals are currently 14-1 on the season after going 3-0 last week, taking down Millikin University 3-0 on Wednesday before securing a pair of wins against North Park University 3-0 and Fontbonne University 3-1 on Saturday.

Moser averaged 4.43 kills per set over the three matches, with four kills in one set at Millikin, nine in three sets against North Park, and a season-high of 18 in the four-set match versus Fontbonne. Moser ranks third in kills in a four-set match—a mark he's matched for the third time in his career with the first being Mar. 2020 against Augustana and the second earlier this season against Carthage. In addition to his 31 kills in the three matches, Moser had three service aces and four blocks.

This week marks Moser's third CCIW Player of the Week Award in his career. He, alongside teammate Matt Nealon, was selected to the FrogJump Team of the Week back in February. Moser also has an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week selection that he received in Mar. 2020.

The Cardinals have a single match this week as they head to the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill. on Friday for a CCIW match against the Illinois Wesleyan Titans. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
