Mar. 23, 2022 - Playing in their first game at home since Mar. 2, the North Central College women's lacrosse team fell 19-6 to the Albion College Britons on a cold and rainy night inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

The Cardinals (2-5, 0-0 CCIW)  jumped out to an early lead as Lucy Culig netted the first goal of the game with just under eight minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Britons (6-2) put the Cardinals first goal past them and rattled off five consecutive goals putting them up 5-1 with five minutes remaining in the quarter. Berit Vandenbroucke got the Cardinals back on the board with just three minutes remaining which would start a three goal run heading into the second quarter. The Britons followed the Cardinals three goals with another five goal run extending their lead to six heading into the locker room.

The Britons scoring streak would continue in the second half as Destiny Okon would start a four goal stretch before Abby MacKenzie cut the deficit to nine. Albion would keep extending their lead as they scored five more unanswered goals before Tanya Czosek would score the Cardinals sixth and final goal of the game but it wasn't enough as the Britons would leave town with a 19-6 win.

Czosek was the Cardinals' top scorer with two goals while Simona Hudakova, Tori Leonard and Reese McMullen finished the game with two caused turnovers. Abigail Widd tallied 13 saves and three ground balls as she fell to 2-5 on the season.

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday as they travel to River Falls, Wis. to take on University of Wisconsin-River Falls at 1 pm inside Ramer Field.
