RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Mar. 26, 2022) - Taking a trip to River Falls, Wis, the North Central College women's lacrosse team lost their second straight game as they lost 17-4 to the UW-River Falls Falcons this afternoon.
The Falcons (5-0) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as Emily Herdine scored two quick goals before Reese McMullen got the Cardinals (2-6, 0-0 CCIW) on the board off an assist from Abby Tointon cutting the lead to one. The Falcons would go on a six goal stretch as they extended their lead to seven heading in the second quarter. Tanya Czosek would cut the lead to six as she scored the first goal of the second quarter. After another Falcon goal, Czosek would score her second goal of the game putting the Cardinals down 9-3. The Falcons would go on to score eight unanswered goals to put them up 17-3 heading into the fourth quarter. Raygn Jordan would tally the final goal of the game with four minutes left but the Falcons would take home a 17-4 win over the Cardinals.
Czosek led the Cardinals with two goals while Jordan and McMullen each had one goal. Mary Pinkowski led the Cardinals with four ground balls and one turnover while Abigail Widd tallied 23 saves as she fell to 2-6 on the season.
The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow as they take a short trip to La Crosse, Wis. to take on UW-La Crosse at 12 pm inside Veterans Memorial Stadium.
