NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Mar. 4, 2022) -  Playing in their final match before the spring break trip, the North Central College men's tennis team moved to 8-2 on the spring season by defeating the Illinois Institute of Technology, 7-2 on Friday night at Naperville Tennis Club.

Andy Hinch and Colten Way rolled past the Scarlet Hawks No. 1 doubles team, 8-3 before Javier Suarez Balsera and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez took down Davis Housan and Huy Ngo 8-1 at No, 2 doubles. To complete the sweep in doubles action, the duo of Matthew Sengphommachanh and Morgan Red won 8-4.

Ramon Vilarroig Martinez won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles while Gonzalez Fernandez took care of business at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3, to secure the Cardinals win. Red defeated Jordan Lauer 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Hinch earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot to wrap up singles play.

North Central returns to action in their spring break trip as they take on Bethel University down in Florida on March 13th in Orlando. The match is set to begin at 3 PM (ET).
