March 8, 2022 - Rob Marinec of the North Central College baseball team captured his second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week award of the season, the organization released on Tuesday.

The Cardinals took down Ripon College 14-11 in game one and cruised to an 11-2 game two victory. In total, Marinec hit .667 with six hits, eight RBIs, four runs, three doubles, and two home runs over his nine at-bats for the week. Six of his RBIs and both home runs came in game two against Ripon. 

Marinec is currently third among all active NCAA baseball players with 193 career RBIs, regardless of division. The senior leads active DIII players in total bases (369), walks, (94), RBI's (193) and ranks second among active players in home runs (31) for a career. 

The Alsip, Ill. native ranks first in the CCIW in batting average (.621), home runs (5), RBIs (22), slugging percentage (1.379), and total bases (40). Marinec and Luke Lamm are the two Cardinals' to earn CCIW Player of the Week award as both Lamm and Marinec received the accolades in the week one installment.
