Apr. 19, 2022 - Capturing his first career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week selection, North Central College first baseman Paul Beverly earned the weekly award for his performance this past week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Cardinals posted a 2-2 record while Beverly hit .625 over his 19 plate appearances. He recorded 10 hits, four runs, four RBIs, two doubles, two walks, and a hit by pitch. In the field, Beverly was perfect with no errors, 21 putouts at first base with two assists as well. 

Beverly ranks among the top batters in the CCIW as he leads the conference in runs batted in (43) and doubles (14). The senior is also second in hits (44), third in batting average (.444) and fifth in runs scored with 33. Beverly has also broken the program record for most times being hit by a pitch for a career with 37.

He is the 67th Cardinal to earn a CCIW player of the week award and is the sixth active North Central player to be selected for a weekly conference accolade.
