Collegiate Baseball News Top 30 Poll
Apr. 6, 2022 - Moving up four spots in the latest installment of the Collegiate Baseball News Top 30 Poll, the North Central College baseball team rose to No. 19 in the rankings, the organization released on Tuesday.
Following a three-game series sweep over Millikin University, the Cardinals won their eighth straight game on Tuesday night as they took down Illinois Wesleyan University 9-3 to improve to 17-5 overall and 4-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Paul Beverly currently leads North Central in batting average (.414), OPS (1.286), doubles (9), home runs (4), slugging percentage (.743), and hit by pitches (12). On the mound, Luke Lamm has thrown 30.1 innings with a 4-2 record while Charlie Klemm is 3-1 on the year with 32 strikeouts. Jason Shanner leads the team with 42 strikeouts over his 27.1 innings pitched. Sitting at 12th in the country with four saves, Nolan Shannon has not allowed an earned run in his nine appearances.
