NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Apr. 9, 2022) - Boasting an all-senior lineup, the North Central College women's tennis team defeated the Illinois Institute of Technology 6-3 on Senior Night at Naperville Tennis Club.

Playing together for the first time all season, Sydney Sawyer and Kaeli Smashey teamed up to take down the Scarlet Hawks' No. 2 doubles team, 8-2 while Sjana Henderson and Katie McGraw also earned an 8-2 win at No. 3 to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Henderson earned the first win for North Central in singles action with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Saumya Sukthankar. After Kayla McSweeney won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6, McGraw clinched the win for the Cardinals with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Allyson Trang. Smashey picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles as well.

North Central hosts No. 33 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday for their final match before the CCIW AQ Tournament. Play is set to begin at 11 AM.
