Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team 

May. 3, 2022 - The North Central College women's lacrosse team had two members earn All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) honors as freshman defender Tori Leonard and senior midfielder Berit Vandenbroucke were second-team selections and senior Mary Pinkowski was North Central's RESPECT Award recipient, the Conference announced Tuesday.  

Leonard, a global studies major from Jackson Township, Ohio, played in 15 games for the Cardinals this season, starting 14 of them. She led the team with 25 caused turnovers and 43 ground balls while averaging 1.67 caused turnovers per game and 2.87 ground balls per game. 

Vandenbroucke, an exercise science major from Naperville, Ill, played in all 16 games for the Cardinals, starting 15 of them. She scored a career high 28 goals this season while leading the team with nine assists and 37 points. Vandenbroucke closes out her career with 61 goals and 22 assists while picking up 43 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. 

Pinkowski, an elementary education major from St. Louis, Mo, was North Central's recipient of the RESPECT Award this season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.

The Cardinals finished the season with a 4-12 record while finishing fifth in the CCIW with a 2-4 record.
