GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (Sept. 7, 2022) - Having not lost a doubles match yet this season, the North Central College women's tennis team used yet another doubles sweep to propel them to their seventh win of the season on Wednesday afternoon in the Cardinals' 9-0 win over Elmhurst University.

Kaeli Smashey secured her 60th win at North Central with an 8-0 doubles win, playing alongside partner Natalie Bassett. The freshman duo of Abigail Penados and Kensington Payne also rolled to an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles while Nina Patience and Anastasia Bozovic earned an 8-1 win in the No. 3 position.

Liveta Ezerskis locked up the first singles win for the Cardinals with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 before Bassett clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over June Bering. Smashey, Penados, Payne, and Kayla McSweeney all won in straight sets to complete the sixth 9-0 sweep for North Central this season.

Looking to win their 19th straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match, North Central travels to Decatur, Ill. on Sept. 16th as the Cardinals face Millikin University at 2:30 p.m.
