CHICAGO (Jan. 16, 2023) - The North Central College swimming and diving teams opened up the New Year against both Illinois Institute of Technology and Manchester University in their final double dual of the season.

The women's team finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.92 with swimmers Abigail Anderson, Taylin Lemke, Scarlett Schuth, and Victoria Robinson. Anderson competed in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing in a close second with a time of 1:16.86. Lemke also swam in both the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:45.58 finishing second and the 500 yard freestyle finishing third with a time of 6:10.51.  

For the men's team, swimmers Matthew Strong, Gavin Sheehan, Ben Laurich and Devin Sheehan finished fifth in the 200 yard-medley with a time of 2:01.18. Strong also swam in the 100 yard backstroke finishing with a time of 1:09.83.

The women's team would go on to tie with Manchester University making it their best finish on the season.

Both teams will travel to Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, on Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. to finish out the regular season.
