Oct. 1st, 2023 – The North Central College Cardinals women's triathlon team competed in the Tri the Illni competition in Champaign, Illinois and took the top two spots. The Cardinals were the only collegiate team competing on the slightly shortened course as they make the final tune ups for regionals. 

Hailey Poe won the competition as she had a time of 48:03.7. Hailey swam 300 meters in 5:12.01, biked seven miles in 21:05.2, and ran 5,000 meters in 20:44.0. In second place is Scarlett Schuth with a time of 49:29.2. Scarlett swam 300 meters in 5:35, biked seven miles in 21:45.4, as well as running a 5k in 21.05.3.   

The Cardinals will compete in two weeks in the USA Triathlon West Regional Qualifier in Springfield, Missouri.
