NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 13, 2023) - Winning their 43rd straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin match, the North Central College women's tennis team used a 9-0 victory to claim the CCIW Championship outright while head coach Ryan Jump became the program's all-time leader in wins with 103.

The doubles teams of Abigail Penados/Natalie Bassett and Kensington Payne/Anastasia Bozovic cruised to 8-0 wins at their respective positions while Nina Patience/Kate Herlihy earned an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 fixture.

The Cardinals began singles play up 4-0 as the Big Blue was playing without a No. 6 due to an injury. Clinching the match was Bassett who rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2.  Patience picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 while Payne won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. To close out the match, Kayla McSweeney won 6-4, 6-1 before Penados earned a hard-fought 6-0, 7-5 win to complete the sweep of Millikin.

Jump is now 103-44 since taking over the women's program in 2017. He passed Don Moravec who compiled a 102-76-2 record in his 10 years (2005-15) at the helm of the program.

This match ends North Central's fall season as the Cardinals will look to win their 13th match in a row by taking on Roosevelt University on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. inside Naperville Tennis Club.
