Feb. 16, 2024 - Opening their spring season with a match against Roosevelt University, the North Central College women's tennis team downed the Lakers, 6-3 to move their winning streak to 13 matches in a row and stay unbeaten on the 2023-24 season.

Kensington Payne and Anastasia Bozovic picked up the first win of the night with an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. After Roosevelt evened the match with a win at No. 3, Abigail Penados and Natalie Bassett secured an 8-6 win at No. 1 to take a 2-1 edge into singles play.

Mikayla Edquiban earned the first singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 4 fixture. Following the conclusion of that match, Bassett won 6-1, 6-0 as well before Nina Patience clinched the victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alyssa Owens at No. 5. Penados won a thrilling 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 match in the No. 1 spot as well.

On Mar. 2, the Cardinals visit No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis in their final match before spring break. That event is set to begin at 2 p.m. at Tao Tennis Center.
