Swimming Begins 2023 Campaign Against Augustana

Oct. 14, 2023 – The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2023 campaign at their new home in FMC Natatorium, facing the Augustana College Vikings.

The men fell 24-150 while the women fell 14-174 against Augustana College.

For the women's end, the team took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with Tori Robinson, Leah Hearne, Amelia Minarik, and Caitlyn Suda completing with a time of 2:19.29, finishing just fifteen second behind second. When it came to individuals, Suda took the middle of the pack at sixth place in the women's 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 27.30.

The men's end, took third in the 200-yard medley relay featuring Matt Strong, Mihir Chandra, Gavin Sheehan, and Devin Sheehan, finishing with a completion time of 1:53.86. In the men's 200-yard freestyle, Jack Newman took a spot at fourth of six with a final time of 2:01.62. Chandra made his presence known placing middle of the pack in both the men's 100-yard freestyle and breastroke placing third (50.38) and fourth (1:04.93) respectively.

The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to their first road meet on Oct. 21 at Millikin University.
