DECATUR, Ill. (Oct. 21, 2023) – The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to their first road swim meet of the season against Millikin University and Illinois College, falling short in men's 92-61/80-67 and women's 124-27/123-25 fashion.
On the men's side the effort of
Joshua Brezenski,
Mihir Chandra,
Devin Sheehan, and
Jack Newman placed them first in the 200-yard medley relay, with a final time of 1:50.69 with a photo finish ahead of Millikin's 1:50.78. On the individual side
Mihir Chandra took first place in the men's 50-yard freestyle with a 22.75. While
Gavin Sheehan took the second-best time in the men's 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.04.
The women were able to capture second place in both the women's 1000- and 100-yard freestyle from the effort of
Victoria Robinson, timing in at 12:35.15 and 1:07.07 respectively.
Amelia Minarik shot to third in the women's 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:12.39.
The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving team continue their road meet schedule competing in the Illinois Wesleyan Halloween Invitational on Oct. 28
