Oct. 25, 2023 – The North Central College women's soccer team completed their regular-season campaign at home against Augustana College stunning them 8-0, becoming the first team in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to shutout all conference opponents.

North Central (15-2, 8-0 CCIW) started the game looking to maintain their offensive dominance, rocketing their first shot on goal just four minutes in.

The Cardinals did not find their first notch on scoreboard until the 11th minute when, Brooke Nelson connected with Holly Helmers for her second goal of the season.

With the score set at 1-0, North Central forced six saves out of Augustana's (10-4-4, 3-2-3 CCIW) Kierstyn Rogers at goal while not allowing a single shot in the half.

Entering the second half, the Cardinals offense shot to life, finding gaps in the defense for Holly Helmers to pass to an open Elle Sutter to set the score 2-0 just eight minutes in.

North Central continued their offensive rhythm keeping the ball firmly in Augustana's side taking three shots, until ten minutes later Madison DeVriendt found Erin Jaskierski in stride for her first goal of the game.

With the game becoming increasingly out of reach for the Vikings, they found no answers continuing their shot-less offense in the second half.

The Cardinals continued their offensive push clobbering two goals within sixty seconds in the 75th minute between, Sarah Andrey and Erin Jaskierski with assists from Kaitlyn Cannon and Madelyn Camaioni.

Augustana continued to struggle to keep the Cardinal offense out of their pitch as just five minutes later, Yazmin Martinez rocketed a shot past Rogers.

The scoreboard looked to finally get some rest at 6-0 but the Cardinals had other plans, shocking the board in the 86th minute with another two goals between Alexandra de Gracia and Megan Michels for their first career goals.

In the Cardinals final regular-season game they obtained the title of the first team in CCIW history to shutout all conference opponents, not allowing Augustana to take a single shot.

North Central College begins the CCIW conference tournament on Nov. 1st as the number one seed with a home field advantage at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
