Cardinals Earn Program High Eight CCIW Selections

Oct. 27, 2023 – Coming off the program's multi-record breaking regular-season, the North Central College women's soccer team was awarded with eight student-athletes being selected to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams with, three of them earning athlete of year awards and Andrew Gamarra earning his first coach of the year award.

This came from the program's best record at 16-2 overall and a CCIW first 8-0 record shutting out all opponents, clinching their fist regular-season champion title.

As a senior forward, Elle Sutter earned her first offensive student-athlete of the year award and was named to her third-consecutive first team slot after breaking the program's career and single season records for goals (45/23) and points (105/52). She earned a combined three 2023 regular-season student-athlete of the week awards for offense.

Sophomore defense, Kassandra Salviola earned her first defensive student-athlete of the year award and made her first CCIW first-team appearance. This came off a season where she helped anchor the defense in eight straight conference shutout wins, earning her first defensive student-athlete of the week award.

As a freshman mid-fielder and forward, Jordan Lange earned the coveted first-year student-athlete of the year award while being selected to the conference's first team. She obtained the honor through two offensive athlete of the week awards, twelve goals, and smashing the freshman record for assists (9) and points (33).

Sarah Andrey, a senior forward, obtained her second 1st team appearance after securing a student-athlete of the week award for offense while putting up sixteen goals, seven assists, and thirty-nine points.

Senior forward, Kaitlyn Cannon earned her second 1st team appearance as well after smashing the single-season record for assists (12) and career record for assists (25).

As a junior forward, Madelyn Camaioni was awarded her first second team slot after four assists and four points this season.

Katie Huey, a senior defense, earned her second 2nd team appearance after anchoring the defense and earning the teams second and final defensive player of the week award.

Sophmore mid-fielder, Yazmin Martinez obtained her first second team selection after tallying six goals, five assists, and seventeen points.

Emma Goldman as a senior defense was awarded with the CCIW respect award.

Andrew Gamarra earned his first coach of the year award off the backs of a multi-program-record breaking season leading the Cardinals to a dominant 16-2 overall record, twelve-win streak, and the CCIW's first conference shutout.

North Central continues its historic run in the CCIW conference semi-finals on Nov. 1st as the number one seed.
