BELOIT, WI. (Nov. 18, 2023) – The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving team traveled to Robert G. Nicholls Natatorium to face the Beloit Buccaneers, losing in women's 163-31 but falling just shy in men's 71-64.
On the men's end, the team fell just five points shy of their first victory of the year. The team rocketed to first in the 50-yard freestyle with
Mihir Chandra (22.61) backed up by
Devin Sheehan (26.18) for their best times of the year. Following the event,
John DiFoggio claimed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.87, finishing a whole 17 seconds ahead. Chandra then secured first again in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:03.01 finishing just .11 behind his season best. and 200-yard free relay. The Cardinals then claimed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a season-best, 1:45.23.
The women's side, found success early with
Victoria Robinson enduring for first in the 1650-yard freestyle with a 20:33.02 finishing a whopping two minutes ahead of Beloit. Then
Amelia Minarik secured a second-to-season best 1:12.82 in the 100-yard butterfly and secured second place in her first 500-yard freestyle of the year with a 6:20.52. The Cardinals locked down the middle of the pack in the 100-yard breaststroke between Robinson at second (1:23.02) and
Leah Hearne at third (1:33.37).

st in Lederhouse Natatorium.
