Duo Grabs Fourth CCIW Athlete of the Week

Feb. 15, 2023 - For the second consecutive week and fourth time this season, North Central College women's track and field student-athletes Lindsey Novak and Alexandra Draves have swept the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track and Field Student-Athlete of the week awards. 

Novak racks up her fourth CCIW honor of the indoor season after placing first in the 200-meter dash at the Pat Hennan Invitational and setting a new program record (25.04). Novak is ranked tenth in the nation while being ranked first in the CCIW, with a full 40 seconds between her and Ava David (Elmhurst) in second place. 

Draves earned her fourth CCIW Field honor after breaking her own program record for the third time this year with a toss of 59 feet and 1.5 inches (18.02 meters) at the Pat Hennan Invitational. Draves ranks first in the CCIW and fifth in the nation for weight throw. 

The Cardinals are at home this weekend as they host the F. Lee Slick Invitational on Friday, Feb. 17. Events are set to start at 4:30 p.m.
