Feb. 21, 2023 - Capturing the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week award for the seventh time in his career, North Central College first baseman Rob Marinec claimed the award for his performance over the Cardinals' 3-0 weekend down in Carbondale.

North Central defeated Ripon College 16-5 on Saturday evening before beating both Blackburn College (12-2) and DePauw University (8-2) on Sunday in their first weekend of games this season.

Marinec hit .615 on the weekend with eight hits, eight runs, six runs batted in, three doubles, three walks, and two home runs with a 1.996 OPS. He also added a stolen base while recording a .688 on-base percentage. This is his first CCIW Hitter of the Week since March 9th of last season.

The Cardinals head to Westfield, Indiana on Saturday as they take on the College of St. Scholastica at 11 a.m. (ET) and Otterbein University at 6 p.m. (ET). Click HERE for the fill 2023 schedule.
