Feb. 27, 2023 - For the second consecutive week, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named North Central College first baseman Rob Marinec the league's Hitter of the Week.

Marinec hit .556 (5-for-9) this week in the Cardinals' two games. He racked up three runs, three RBIs, two doubles, one walk, one stolen base, and hit a home run while recording a 1.111 slugging percentage. On the season, Marinec is hitting .591 with 13 hits, 11 runs, nine RBIs, five doubles, and three home runs. 

The Cardinals cruised past the College of St. Scholastica 11-3 in their first game of the week before falling a tightly-contest game to Otterbein University, 3-1. They move to 4-1 on the season.

This marks the eighth time in Marinec's career that the CCIW named him a Hitter of the Week. The Cardinals have claimed 73 CCIW Player of the Week awards since the conference began giving the awards out in 2003.

North Central heads to Louisville, Kentucky this weekend as they take on the host Spalding University, Kalamazoo College, and No. 18 Denison University.
