CCIW Release

Feb. 8, 2023 - For the third time this season, North Central College women's track and field student-athletes, Lindsey Novak and Alexandra Draves have swept the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week awards. 

Novak collects her third CCIW honor of the indoor season after turning in two top-five performances at Olivet Nazarene's Walter Cramer Open. Novak clocked a time of 57.80 seconds in the 400-meter dash to finish second overall, before placing fourth in the 200-meter dash just a short time late with a 25.55-second effort. Nationally, Novak ranks seventh in the 400 and eighth in the 200. She leads the CCIW in the 200 and is second in the 400. Novak shares this week's CCIW Track honor with Elmhurst University's Huda Hussaini who set a personal best of 7.82 seconds in the 60-meter dash to finish second at the Tadd Metzger Invite and rank second in the CCIW. 

Draves continues to dominate in the cage, earning her third CCIW Field honor after breaking her program record in the weight throw for the second time this year with a toss of 59 feet and 0.75 inches (18.00 meters) at the Walter Cramer Open. Draves leads the CCIW with a three foot-advantage and ranks fourth in the nation. 

The Cardinals are back at home this weekend as they host the Pat Hennan Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11. Field events are set to start at 10:30 a.m.
