ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 12, 2023) - Kicking off their spring break trip in Florida, the North Central College men's tennis team cruised past Transylvania University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez took care of business at No. 1 singles with an 8-2 win while Matthew Sengphommachanh and Daniel Estanislao teamed up for an 8-2 win in the No. 2 doubles position. Finishing off the doubles sweep was Javier Suarez Balsera and Matt Crossland who earned an 8-4 victory in the No. 3 spot.

Gonzalez Fernandez rolled to a 6-0, 6-4 win to pick up the first victory in singles play for the Cardinals. Sengphommachanh clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Suarez Balsera, Estanislao, and Crossland each won in straight sets while Vilarroig Martinez earned a hard fought 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win in the No. 1 position.

North Central faces their third ranked opponent of the spring season as they take on No. 10 Denison University at 12 p.m. (ET) before playing the University of Wisconsin-Superior in an NCAA Tournament rematch from last season at 6 p.m. (ET).
