ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 13, 2023) - After two long delays due to rain, the North Central College men's tennis team was able to conclude their match, which was played to a decision, as they fell to No. 10 Denison, 5-1 on Monday.
The match opened with singles play as the Cardinals and Big Red squared off on six courts. After falling in the first four matches, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez completed a comeback 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory over Jack Bulger, the No. 33 ranked singles player in DIII and No. 9 in the Central Region. Denison claimed a win at No. 4 singles to clinch the match, 5-1.
Because the match was decided after singles play, no doubles matches were played.
The Cardinals' match against the University of Wisconsin-Superior was canceled due to the weather as well. They take on Macalester College on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. (ET).
