ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 15, 2023) - Wrapping up their spring break trip to Florida, the North Central College men's tennis team swept doubles play on the way to an 8-1 victory over Macalester College on Wednesday afternoon.

Matt Crossland and Javier Suarez Balsera cruised to an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles right before Daniel Estanislao and Matthew Sengphommachanh earned an 8-5 win in the No. 2 spot. Completing the doubles sweep, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez won a thrilling 8-7 win in the No. 1 doubles position.

Gonzalez Fernandez picked up the first singles win of the day for the Cardinals before Vilarroig Martinez clinched the North Central win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Daniel Uracca Mozos won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 while Suarez Balsera win 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2. Estanislao secured a 6-3, 6-3 win on the way to an 8-1 Cardinals win, the ninth of their season.

North Central returns home on Saturday to begin College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play as they host Wheaton at 1 p.m. at Naperville Tennis Club.
