ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 12, 2023) - Claiming their 11th 9-0 sweep of the season, the North Central College women's tennis team rolled past Transylvania University on Saturday afternoon to win their 16th straight match of the season.

Abigail Penados and Natalie Bassett battled to an 8-7 victory at No. 1 doubles while the tandems of Nina Patience/Kensington Payne and Mikayla Edquiban/Kayla McSweeney each won 8-4 to take a 3-0 lead into singles play for North Central.

Penados earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles while her doubles teammate Bassett cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot. Payne captured a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 3. At No. 4, Edquiban posted a 6-1, 6-0 win. Patience was victorious at No. 5 (6-0, 6-4) while McSweeney won at No. 6 (6-1, 6-2) to complete the sweep for the Cardinals.

North Central takes on No. 29 Denison University at 8 a.m. (ET) before facing the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 6 p.m. (ET).
