CCIW Release
Mar. 20, 2023 - Earning his second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week award, North Central baseball player
Ryan Behling claimed the honors following his performance in the Cardinals' 6-2 win over the Illinois Institute of Technology on Sunday.
Behling, a senior from Itasca, threw seven innings on Sunday while striking out five batters and allowing just four hits to pick up the win. He held the Scarlet Hawks scoreless in his outing to bring his earned run average down to 0.98 on the season. In his five outings, Behling has a 2-0 record with 23 strikeouts and is holding the opposition to a .210 batting average.
Behling is the second Cardinals player to earn a CCIW weekly award this season as Rob Marinec won Hitter of the Week twice in the first two weeks of the season. Behling captured his first CCIW Pitcher of the Week award on March 16th as he threw the fourth no-hitter in program history.
North Central finishes the season series with Illinois Tech on Tuesday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Ed Glancy Field in Chicago.
