Mar. 27, 2023 - Claiming the Cardinal's fourth College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week award this season, North Central College pitcher AJ Kutcher earned his first-ever Pitcher of the Week honor for his performance in their 21-0 win over Illinois Tech on Tuesday.

Kutcher improved to 2-0 on the year with a win over the Scarlet Hawks. He threw five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out seven batters while issuing awalk. This was Kutcher's first start of the season, making his fourth appearance. On the year, he has pitched 12.2 innings with 12 strikeouts and a 4.97 earned run average.

Ryan Behling and Rob Marinec are the other Cardinals to be named CCIW Player of the Week winners this season. Behling won the honor last week with Marinec capturing the first two Hitter of the Week awards this season.

The Cardinals' game against Franklin College has been canceled due to the weather forecast. North Central opens up CCIW play on Friday as they take on Wheaton College at Zimmerman Stadium. The first pitch is set for 4 p.m.
