Apr. 17, 2023 - Cole Gregorio of the North Central College baseball team earned this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week award for his performance in the Cardinals week which saw the team post a 3-0 record while outscoring their opponents 37-8.

Gregorio, a senior from Naperville, posted a .667 batting average in 12 at-bats with eight hits, 10 runs batted in, four runs scored, three doubles, and a walk while being perfect in the field, tallying 12 putouts. In North Central's first game against Carroll, Gregorio drove in four runs which is a career-high.

He joins Rob Marinec as the two Cardinals' to win CCIW Hitter of the Week while AJ Kutcher and Ryan Behling earned weekly pitcher awards from the conference earlier this season. With this week's honor, North Central baseball has a total of 68 CCIW Athlete of the Week awards.

The Cardinals host local rival Benedictine University on Wednesday evening. The game is set for 6 p.m. at Zimmerman Stadium.
