ELMHURST, Ill. (Apr. 18, 2023) - Closing out the regular season, the North Central College men's tennis team earned their 10th sweep of the season as they beat Elmhurst University 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Bruce Tennis Courts.

Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez rolled to an 8-0 win over the Bluejays' No. 1 doubles unit while Daniel Estanislao and Matthew Sengphommachanh cruised to an 8-0 win as well at No. 2. Elmhurst only had five available players so Matt Crossland and Javier Suarez Balsera earned a win by forfeit in the No. 3 spot.

North Central dominated singles play as the Bluejays only won one set on the day. Suarez Balsera defeated Ben Cavka 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 while Sengphommachanh, Colten Way, Crossland, and Daniel Urraca Mozos all won 6-0, 6-0. Brian Gambuzza earned a win by forfeit at No. 6 singles.

The Cardinals compete in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament on April 27-29 at the Wheaton Tennis Courts. North Central is the defending champion and has locked up the #1 seed in the tournament.
