Tanya Czosek scored a career-high seven goals in the Cardinals 15-8 win Saturday at Augustana College.

Czosek found Abbey Triebe for the Cardinals first goal just 27 seconds into the contest before Czosek scored her first goal of the night with 13:50 remaining in the first quarter. The Vikings cut the lead to one with 12:31 remaining in the first but Abby MacKenzie scored back-to-back goals to put the Cardinals on top by three. Triebe found the back of the net for the second time of the game to give the Cardinals a 5-1 advantage but the Vikings would score the final two goals of the quarter to cut the lead to 5-3.Â
In the second quarter, Czosek and Triebe connected once again before Czosek found the back of the net for the second time to give the Cardinals a 7-3 lead with 12:32 to play in the first half. Two goals by Madison Langewisch cut the lead to two but MacKenzie and Czosek scored 39 seconds apart to give North Central a 9-5 advantage heading into the break.Â
The Cardinals were ready to play in the second half as Czosek scored her fourth goal of the game just eighteen seconds into the third quarter. The Vikings would respond but the Cardinals would score two more unanswered goals from MacKenzie and Czosek to give North Central a comfortable 12-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter.Â
Odessa Wood found Triebe early in the fourth quarter before Czosek finished off a Julia Clarke pass to give the Cardinals a commanding 14-6 lead. Czosek would finish off a career-day with her seventh goal with 4:48 remaining in the game to give the Cardinals a 15-8 win.Â
Czosek led all scorers with seven goals while MacKenzie and Triebe each scored four goals. Czosek and Wood led the Cardinals with two assists while Clarke dished out one assist in the win. Bella LaRocco tallied 13 saves as she improved to 5-10 on the season.Â
The Cardinals return to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Tuesday, April 25 to take on Carthage College at 7 pm.Â
