NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Apr. 25, 2023) - Following a week where they saw back-to-back conference wins for the first time since 2019, Tanya Czosek and Bella LaRocco of the North Central College women's lacrosse team were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week. 

Czosek, a senior from Wadsworth, Ill., was named Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career following a week which featured ten goals, three assists and thirteen points on just fourteen shots. Czosek highlighted the Cardinals 15-8 win at Augustana College as she scored a career-high seven goals and dished out two assists. Against Elmhurst University, Czosek found the back of the net three times while tallying one assist to help the Cardinals defeat the Bluejays 17-0. 

LaRocco, a freshman from Cary, Ill., was dominant in net for the Cardinals this week to earn her first Player of the Week honor. LaRocco tallied three saves in North Central's 17-0 win over Elmhurst while earning her first shutout in her college career. Against Augustana, LaRocco shut down the Vikings offense that averages eleven goals a game as she tallied thirteen saves. 

Czosek, LaRocco and the Cardinals return to action tonight as they host Carthage College at 7 pm at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in a crucial CCIW matchup.
