2023 Baseball CSC Academic All-District Teams
May 16, 2023 - Earning the most Academic All-District awards for a single season in program history, the North Central College baseball team placed

AJ Kutcher,
Luke Lamm, and
Luke Lehnen on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams, the organization released on Tuesday.
Nominated by members of CSC, honorees are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in the classroom and on the baseball field. In order to be eligible. student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
Lamm, now a three-time CSC All-District honoree and two-time Academic All-American, threw 58.0 innings for the Cardinals this season. He tallied 66 strikeouts, a 4.66 earned run average with a 4-6 overall record. Lamm held opponents to a .259 batting average for the year. He finishes his career as the program leader for career wins (29), career strikeouts (273), games started (48), and innings pitched (277.1).
Lehnen earned CSC Academic All-District honors in the fall as a member of the football team. Lehnen hit .284 with 30 runs, 25 RBIs, 13 walks, 10 stolen bases, five doubles, three triples, and two home runs on the year. All-time, he is second in program history with 16 triples, sixth in career stolen bases (44), and seventh in runs scored (144).
Gregorio hit .364 on the season with 24 RBIs, 15 runs, seven walks, four doubles, and two home runs. In the field, he posted a fielding percentage of .992 in 121 chances with 117 putouts and three assists. His four RBI games against Illinois Tech and Carroll are tied for the most in a single-game this season. On April 17th, Gregorio was named the CCIW Hitter of the Week.
Kutcher posted a 5-2 record on the year in his 10 appearances, making six starts. He struck out 31 batters and picked up a save against St. Scholastica on February 25th. His best outing came against IIT when he held the Scarlet Hawks to just one hit over five innings, striking out seven while not allowing a run. This performance earned Kutcher a CCIW Pitcher of the Week award on March 27th. He also scored two runs for the Cardinals with a base hit and a walk on the offensive side.
The Cardinals now have 10 players in program history who have been named to the CSC Academic All-District list. These four players will advance to the Academic All-American ballot which will be released on June 7th.
