IWLCAÂ News Release
July 26, 2023Â - The North Central College women's lacrosse program has been recognized with team and individual honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for its outstanding academic performance during the 2022-2023 academic year.
For the 12th time in 14 seasons, the Cardinals have been named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for maintaining a team grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. North Central is one of 289 teams nationwide and 138 at the NCAA Division III level to be so honored. Other College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) representatives on the list are the University of Chicago, Carroll University and Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Cardinals also have six student-athletes on the IWLCA's Division III Academic Honor Roll, which this year consists of 964 student-athletes from 173 institutions. North Central's six selections, which match the 2016 team for the most ever achieved in a single year, are among 24 honorees from the CCIW. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.

Abby Tointon. Each is a first-time honoree.
Czosek, a marketing and social entrepreneurship major, was the Cardinals' leading scorer in 2023 with 39 goals including a seven-goal effort in a 15-8 win over Augustana College Apr. 22. Triebe, a sport management major, totaled 27 goals with a season high of six in an 11-10 win over Marian University (Wisconsin) Mar. 22.
Clarke, a psychology and sociology major, led North Central in ground balls (47) and ranked third in the CCIW in caused turnovers (26). Hudakova (actuarial science/computer science major) saw action in two games for the Cardinals, while McMullen (global studies/Spanish major) ranked second on the team in caused turnoves (21) and third in ground balls (34) and Tointon (elementary education major) totaled four goals.Â
The Cardinals finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 5-12, with a 2-4 finish in CCIW play.Â
