Sept. 20, 2023 – The North Central College women's soccer team took on Adrian College on Wednesday, running away with the game 5-0, at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Opening up the matchup, North Central (6-2) would not wait long to get the offense rolling early. In the 14th minute Madelyn Camaioni found Yazmin Martinez in stride for her third goal of the season, giving the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead.

Adrian (3-2-1) did not get much time to regroup as two minutes later Sarah Andrey assisted Elle Sutter to rocket a shot for the second goal for the Cardinals.

The Bulldogs squeezed in a chance to retaliate in the 22nd minute with a shot from Kaitlyn Dake that was saved by Jordan Boyd for her first of the game.

North Central continued to dominate ball possession getting their last scoring opportunity of the half, off a shot from Kaitlyn Cannon that was just saved by Adrian's Katelyn Stanton at goal.

The second half fired off with a quick drive from the Cardinals. Within sixty seconds Gabriella Galvez connected with Kassandra Salviola in the gap to force the score 3-0.

Again, the Bulldogs were not allowed any time to breathe as just three minutes later, Andrey scored her 9th goal of the season with a relay from Cannon.

With the score firmly in the Cardinals favor at 4-0, Adrian was only allowed one more scoring attempt with a shot from Annamarie Fosmoen, scooped up by Boyd in the 53rd minute.

North Central found room on offense again when a team effort of assists from Holly Helmers and Brooke Nelson, set up Sutter's second goal of the game putting the Bulldogs on ice, 5-0.

In total the Cardinals put up five goals with thirteen shots and only allowed Boyd to save the ball twice.

The North Central College women's soccer team continues their homestand against their first CCIW opponent of the season, the Elmhurst University Bluejays. The
game is set for Sept. 23rd at 12 p.m. in Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
