Cardinals Cruise Control

Sept. 30th, 2023 – The North Central College Cardinals men's cross-country team competed in in 8,000 meter races in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. The Cardinals win this meet in comfortable fashion. 

The first Cardinal to cross the line for the Cardinals is Matt Jeet running a time of 26.21.1 to place second in the meet overall. Jeet would run this pace while holding a pace of 5:20 per mile. The next Cardinal across the line crossing in fourth place is Andres Perez running a time of 27:04.5 with a pacing of 5:27. The next three scoring Cardinals are Jonathon Olenek crossing in seventh place (27:14.3), Aidan Armstrong crossing in tenth place (27:27.8), as well as Nolan Crooks finishing in 11th place (27:30.5).  

The Cardinals win this meet scoring 34 points. Rounding out the top five is the Illinois Cross Country Club in second place with 62 points, St. Ambrose University finished third with 73 points, Augastana College finished fourth with 94 points, and in fifth place is Wheaton College with 108 points. 

The Cardinals compete again in two weeks in the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois.
