LISLE, Ill. (Sept. 8, 2023) - Winning their 37th straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin match, the North Central College women's tennis team earned another 9-0 sweep, this time over Carthage College on Friday afternoon at the Benet Academy tennis courts. 

The duos of Abigail Penados/Natalie Bassett and Mikayla Edquiban/Kate Herlihy rolled to 8-0 victoried while Kensington Payne/Anastasia Bozovic captured an 8-3 win at the No. 2 position.

In singles play, Nina Patience cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 before Edquiban clinched the match victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 4 spot. Penados earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Xingchen Liu, last year's CCIW Player of the Year. Bassett, Payne, and Herlihy all won in straight sets as well.

The Cardinals visit Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon. That match is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the Beadles-Morse Tennis Courts in Bloomington.
