CHICAGO (Jan. 13, 2024) – The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Ecko Pool falling in a double dual against Illinois Institute of Technology (258-87) and Manchester University (225-96).
The women's side took home a slew of top-three finishes between
Victoria Robinson,
Taylor Robinson,
Sydney Sprayberry,
Scarlett Schuth,
Taylin Lemke, and
Abigail Anderson. Sprayberry shot ahead to two second-place finishes between the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.46) and 100-yard freestyle (59.07). Robinson followed suit with a third-place position behind Sprayberry in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.10) while taking a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:41.27).
In the 50-yard freestyle, Schuth took home the fastest time of the Cardinals with a second-place time of 27.39 seconds followed by Robinson in fourth with 28.42 seconds and
Abigail Anderson in fifth with 28.49 seconds. Anderson also took a second-place position in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:52.76. Lemke found her stride in the 500-yard freestyle finishing second with a final time of 6:11.92.
On the team events side, the women took home the Cardinal's best time in the 400-yard freestyle relay between the Robinsons, Lemke, and Sprayberry with a second-place finish of 4:10.63. The men fell just over two seconds behind Manchester University with a 4:01.84.
The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel back home for their final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 27th at FMC Natatorium.
