(Nov. 5, 2024)- Christian Guzman of the North Central College men's wrestling team has taken home the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week award of the season. This is the third of his career. 

The No. 2 ranked wrestler in the 125 pound weight class had a successful beginning of the season at the Pointer Open hosted by the University-Wisconsin Stevens Point, this past Saturday. Guzman won all five of his matches in the Pointer Open to win the 125 pound weight class. He scored three fall victories, an 18-0 technical fall and a 15-2 major decision. 

Guzman and the Cardinals return to action tomorrow night, Wednesday Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in Merner Fieldhouse when they host the Carthage College Firebird for their first dual of the season. Click HERE for the full schedule.
