NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Dec. 3, 2024)- The North Central College men's wrestling team (3-0, 3-0 CCIW) returned to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action as they hosted the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans (0-2,0-2 CCIW) inside Gregory Arena Tuesday night. The Cardinals came away with a dominant 55-0 victory as they extended their CCIW dual win streak to 53. 

The Cardinals got ahead 12-0 with two forfeits giving Cameron Phillips and Jad Alwawi victories in the 125-pound and 133-pound weight class respectively. Philips moves to 4-4 on the season and Alwawi is now 5-7. 

Josh Robison kicked off tonight's action in the 144-pound weight class facing off against Austin Johnston as he earned a 14-4 major decision to give the Cardinals a 16-0 lead. Robison is now 7-5 on the season capturing his first major decision this year. 

Earning the first fall victory of the evening, Jared Gumila pinned his counterpart Ameer Alamawi in the 149-pound weight class. Gumilla captured the pin in one minute and 27 seconds, tacking on another six points to North Central's team score. Gumila, now 7-4, got his second fall of the season. 

North Central kept the momentum going, getting another pin in the 157-pound weight class. Armando Murillo secured his second victory this year defeating Omar AlQammaz in two minutes and seven seconds. The senior gave the Cardinals a 28-0 lead. 

In the closest match of the night, Nolan Flores earned win number seven of the season with a decision (12-7) over Jackson Castaneda in the 165-pound weight class. The Cardinals led 31-0 by this point. Flores, 7-4 on the season, has three wins by decision. 

Javen Estrada kept the Cardinals' dominance going with another fall, the third of the evening, in the 174-pound weight class. Noah Passoni was on the receiving end of the pin as he fell in just one minute and five seconds. Estrada has two pins along with a 6-1 record in the 2024-25 season. 

The match between PT Schoolman and Bobby Conroy in the 184-pound weight class came to an abrupt end due to injury. Schoolman would receive the victory as he moves to 7-5 on the year. 

Senior Elijah Brockie gave North Central pin number four of the evening, pinning Eli Villegas in the 197-pound weight class. Brockie pinned Villegas in one minute and 21 seconds, marking his second pin of the season. Brockie moves to 8-4 overall. 

In the 285-pound weight class, Aidan Trujillo won by forfeit to end the dual between the Titans and the Cardinals. Trujillo moves to 5-4.
