ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 13, 2024) - Continuing its run of tough competition, the North Central College women's tennis team ended a three-match skid with a 5-4 victory over Trinity College (Conn.) on Wednesday at Sylvan Lake in Orlando.

After the Bantams won at No. 2, Mikayla Edquiban and Kayla McSweeney earned an 8-6 win to even the score before Abigail Penados and Natalie Bassett battled to an 8-7 (7-2) win at No. 1 doubles.

Anastasia Bozovic collected the first win in singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 before Nina Patience won 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 spot. Now just a win away from clinching the match, Abigail Penados fought to a 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 10-4 victory in the No. 1 fixture to secure the North Central win.

The Cardinals return to the courts on Saturday, Mar. 23 with a twin bill against Concordia University Wisconsin (12:45 p.m.) and Greenville University (6:45 p.m.) inside Naperville Tennis Club.
