CHICAGO (Mar. 30, 2024) - Taking on the No. 3 team in the country in the University of Chicago, the North Central College women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match 9-0 to the Maroons on Saturday.

Abigail Penados and Natalie Bassett battled, but fell 8-5 to Rena Lin and Lauren Khou in the No. 1 position. The duos Kate Herlihy/Kensington Payne and Mikayla Edquiban/Kayla McSweeney fell 8-3 at their respective positions. Penados fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 while Edquiban lost 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. At No. 6, McSweeney dropped a 6-3, 6-1 match as the Maroons swept the Cardinals in straight sets to claim the 9-0 win,

North Central heads to Madison, Wis. for the Midwest Invite next weekend. The schedule will be released later this week with a bracketed dual format.
