Apr. 10, 2024 - Lindsey Novak of the North Central College women's track and field team was honored with this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week award.
 
Novak, a graduate student from Lombard, competed in the 400-meter run for the Cardinals last weekend at the Chicagoland Championships. Novak faced off against other athletes from all three of the different National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) divisions. Novak won first place with a time of 57.87 seconds, the fastest time so far this season in the CCIW.
 
Novak is part of a North Central 4-by-100-meter relay team along with Marcedes Jackson, Faith Ladin, and Denise Partee. They are nationally ranked, coming in at No. 5 this week.
 
Novak and her Cardinal teammates will compete in the Wheaton College Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 13.
