CHICAGO (Apr. 17, 2024) - The three-time defending College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women's lacrosse champions performed with devastating efficiency at Stagg Field Wednesday, as North Central College saw its five-game winning streak come to an end with a 26-1 loss to the Maroons.
Chicago (7-4, 3-0 CCIW) put its stamp on the contest in the very early going, scoring 12 goals on 25 shots in the first period. The Cardinals' lone goal came from Abby MacKenzie with 5:35 left in the second period, but a comeback effort never materialized as North Central managed just one shot attempt in the second half. MacKenzie collected a team-best four draw controls and Tori Leonard caused two turnovers.
The Cardinals (7-4, 2-1) travel to face Carthage College (9-4, 3-0) Saturday, with a scheduled start time of 4:00 p.m. at Art Keller Field. Click HERE for the full 2024 schedule and live coverage options.
