Apr. 2, 2024 - The North Central College women's track and field team jumped 24 spots to take control of the No. 11 rank in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings. The USTFCCCA released its latest installment Tuesday afternoon.
 
One Cardinal relay and five individuals rank in the nation's top 25 for their respective events. North Central's 4x100-meter relay of Marcedes Jackson, Lindsey Novak, Faith Ladin, and Denise Partee headline the group at No. 3 (47.37).
 
Partee also ranks No. 7 in the 100-meter hurdles (14.45), while Jackson ranks eighth in the 100-meter dash (12.01). In the field, Alexandra Draves ranks sixth in the hammer throw (169'10", 51. 76m). Hannah Jones sits sixth in the javelin throw (133'6", 40.70m), while Faith Ladin follows at No. 14 (129'9", 39.55m).
 
Washington University (Mo.) moved up three spots to lead all Division III teams in first. Emory University and Lynchburg University hold tight to their No. 2 and No. 3 ranks. Wartburg College jumps up 13 spots forward to No. 4, while the University of Chicago enters the rankings to close out the top-five teams.
 
In the USTFCCCA Midwest Region, Washington (Mo.) continues to lead the region ranking. Wartburg moved up three spots to No. 2, followed by Chicago, who entered the weekly ranks at No. 3. North Central has jumped up eight positions to take a hold of No. 4. Greenville University closes out the top five teams after dropping three spots.
 
North Central will travel to the Chicagoland Championships this weekend (Apr. 5 and Apr. 6) at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Ill.
