Apr. 20, 2024 - In the final regular season match of the 2023-24 slate, the North Central College women's tennis team squared off with No. 12 Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, dropping the contest 5-0 on Saturday.

Playing until a team clinched the match with five points, Abigail Penados and Natalie Bassett fell 8-2 at No. 1 doubles before the duos of Kensington Payne/Kate Herlihy and Mikayla Edquiban/Kayla McSweeney each lost 8-4.

Needing just two wins to clinch the match, Case Western picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6. Nina Patience won the first set, 6-3 against Asha Shukla before the clinch.

The Cardinals move into the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Automatic Qualifier Tournament as the No. 1 seed. North Central will face the winner of No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan University and No. 9 Elmhurst University on Apr. 25. The three-day tournament is hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.
